Hello: Although I did not know your mother, I send my deepest sympathies to your family. She seems to have been a beautiful woman, inside and out.

This may seem a bit different, but I came across your mother's name because of my own name and a search a meaning or any other history about the name. I would love to know the history behind her name because not only do I have the same name but I have never known anyone to have the same name as myself! If you would be so kind to contact me via email with any name history you may have I would love to know more.

Best regards,
Ninzel Rasmuson

Hi Ninzel! I hope you will look back here eventually and see this. Your email doesn't show on the site. The story we got from Mom was that her mother's (Mabel Hart Brees) roommate at Milliken University in Decatur, IL, was "Ninzel." Don't know her last name, unfortunately. And I guess YOU have no history of the name yourself?

You were one of two, and now with Mom gone, you may be the only Ninzel.

Regards,
Emily

Hello, I’m going to reminisce to Jefferson St to the home your parents owned when they were in Hillsboro. My friend recently purchased the home and was asking about past owners after Bessie and Clyde Hart lived there.
And of course, the unusual name Ninzell came up in the conversation. My grandmother was Ninzell Brownlee Kenney. I have always heard that your mother and my grandmother were close friends and that Ninzell Anoe was named after my grandmother.
My mother, Mary Jo Kenney, passed away at 95 shortly before your mother-so I have nobody to verify that story.
I last spoke with your mother at the Hillsboro Country Club as she was leaving. I was so glad I recognized her before you left with her.
Lived in Hillsboro long enough to fondly remember the Hart’s and the Anoe families.
Cordially,
Mary Ann Howard

Art and I just learned of Ninzel's passing last week. Dad had so many wonderful stories and memories of her that he shared with me. We will miss her.

Dear Emily--my sister called and told me that your mother had passed away. Our mother was 11 days short of turning 93 when she died 2 years ago. It brings back memories of high school days. What an intelligent lady she was. My sympathy to you and your family. We know that losing a mother is very hard. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

So glad to hear from you! Thank your sweet sister for me, for letting you know about Mom. And my condolences to you both for YOUR mom's passing. I don't think you can ever be really ready to lose a parent no matter how old you get.

Sorry to read about your mother's passing. reading her obituary brings back many memories of my best friend throughout high school, Ken.
I will plan to attend her funeral. She was a very smart, kind, caring and considerate lady, that I enjoyed having the opportunity to know.

Dear Emily, Cindy, and Ken and families
I was stunned today when I read the obituary list in the Springfield paper and saw Anoe on the top of the list. Actually, awed was the appropriate response. Of all the people whose paths I have crossed, Nino would have been one I could definitely pick to make it to 90! I owe her a lot. Her influence led to my hiring at SIU S of M way back in the earliest days and I am grateful for the rich academic career I enjoyed. I can't think of anyone still employed there who would remember her intelligence, wit, and dynamism as she set the Admissions Office on its course, but set it, she did. Many memories. Kind thoughts to all of you, Gaby D'Elia
