Lynn G. Caulk, 96, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Irving, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 4:17 p.m., at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Wilson Park Funeral Home, Rochester, IL.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Greg Busboom, Pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Springfield, IL, will officiate. Burial will take place in Irving Cemetery, Irving, IL. Military rites will be accorded by V.F. W. Post 1306 and American Legion Post 425.
Mr. Caulk was born on July 6, 1920 to the late Robert Sherman and Essie Sarah (Hilt) Caulk. He was a graduate of Witt High School and had worked at Eagle Picher in Schram City, IL and then he worked for Illinois Power Company until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Caulk lived in the Irving, IL and Springfield, IL areas. He married Rose K. Reck on January 31, 1948 at Lutheran Church in Irving, IL and she preceded him on October 5, 1998. Mr. Caulk was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Springfield, IL, a member of Hillsboro Moose Lodge #1377, and a member of the VFW. Mr. Caulk served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.
Mr. Caulk is survived by two children, Roger Thomson of Oceanside, CA and Penny (husband Mike) Hall of Rochester, IL; son-in-law, David Wyatt of Springfield, IL; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and companion, Claire Papai. He was one of thirteen children with one sister surviving, Ada Morehead of Fennville, MI.
Mr. Caulk was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Ann Wyatt in December, 2004.
