I just received the April 16, 2015, Hillsboro paper. I was saddened and shocked at Kathy's passing. She was a year ahead of me in school, I was a member of BPW with her many years ago, and she was a favorite of my mother's through BPW, Civic Club, and Old Settler's. She was a sweet person who gave her all to everything she attempted/accomplished. She will be missed.

You have my deepest condolences. I just read the obit in the Litchfield paper which my brother brought to me today in Decatur. I am Joan Hedgcock and directed Prairie Voices of which Kathy was a member. She was a great person and had a sense of humor. We will miss her.

My sympathy goes out to the Dagon family for the loss of Kathy. Kathy and I attended Greenville College. She was a great friend and encouraged me greatly as it was my first time living away from home. Also, I was separated from my fiancee (now my husband) who was in Vietnam at the time. She cheered me, encouraged me and kept my mind on my studies.. We had stayed in contact for many years, but most recently had lost contact. I was saddened to hear she had passed away.

I will miss Kathy's cheerful personality. I enjoyed singing with her in the Prairie Voices and Old Settlers choirs. The Old Settlers celebrations, kiddie parade and crowning of the queen are so memorable.
