Juanita (Merriman) Simmons

Juanita Simmons, 85, of Belleville, IL formerly of Coffeen, IL passed away March 12, 2015 at Midwest Rehab & Respiratory, Belleville IL.  Services will be held at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Hemken, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Hillsboro IL officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery,    Van Burensburg, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home.

Mrs. Simmons was born January 17, 1930 in Fillmore IL to the late Cecil and Marie (Miller) Merriman. She married Ora Brazzel Simmons on July 24, 1954 at Fillmore IL and he preceded in death on November 16, 1988. Juanita was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She had lived in St. Louis and the Coffeen IL area.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Roth, Smithton IL; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy White, Vandalia, IL; Ruth McCary, Hillsboro IL; Lorretta (husband, John) Ulmer, Greenville, IL; brother, Leland (wife, Shirley) Merriman, Peoria IL and sister-in-law, Rosetta Merriman.  She was preceded by daughter, Katie Jo Staley;son-in-law, Don Roth, brother, Ray Merriman and sister, Helen Merriman.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association.
