Blanche Angline (Agney) Friesland Tharp, 86, of Alhambra, IL, formerly of Coffeen, IL, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015, at 12:50 a.m. at Alhambra Care Center, Alhambra, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015, from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Burial will take place at Cress Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Gary Stanford, Pastor of Taylor Springs Baptist Church, Taylor Springs, IL will officiate.
Mrs. Tharp was born on March 22, 1929, in Taylor Springs, IL to the late Raymond P. and Verna "Elsie" (Murphy) Agney. She married Melvin A. Friesland on August 25, 1944, in Bond County, IL, and he preceded her in 1991. She then married Gerald Tharp in April, 1996 in Arkansas. He preceded her also. She was a homemaker. During her lifetime she lived in Taylor Springs, IL; Coffeen, IL; Hillsboro, IL and Arkansas before moving back to Hillsboro, IL in 2006.
Mrs. Tharp is survived by twelve children, Melvin Friesland, Jr., Charles A. Friesland, Oren G. Friesland, Chester T. Friesland, John R. Friesland, Francis R. Friesland, Elsie Chapps, Leota Blevins, Charlotte Ferguson, Maggie Sidner, Margery Moulton and Roxy Tyler; 25 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; one brother, Donald Agney; and five sisters, Mary Moore, Lorraine Collenberger, Shirley Ivy, Mable Segrest and Violet Agney.
She was also preceded in death by two children, Lena Daisy Friesland and George L. Friesland; two grandsons; three brothers and four sisters.
Memorials may be given to the Activity Department of the Alhambra Care Center, Alhambra, IL.
