Bertha L (Woodruff) Lloyd

Bertha L. Lloyd, 84, of Litchfield, IL, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017, at 5:05 p.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab Center, Hillsboro, IL.  Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Burial will take place in Waveland Cemetery, Hillsboro, IL.  Mark Jagosh will officiate.  Cremation rites were accorded.

Mrs. Lloyd was born on March 10, 1933, in Witt, IL, to the late Earl and Gertrude (Bowen) Woodruff.  She was an Activity Director at nursing homes for about twenty years, working at both Don Berry Nursing Home and Turtle Creek Nursing Home. She married Fred "Sam" Lloyd on June 17, 1951 in Hillsboro, IL and he preceded her on January 30, 2009.  She lived in Spokane, WA, while her husband was in the service, and Litchfield, IL.  Mrs. Lloyd attended the Free Methodist Church in Litchfield, IL and was a member of a bible study group from the Free Methodist Church, was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader, enjoyed gardening, loved to fish and travel, loved spending time with her family, and loved her dogs and all animals.

Mrs. Lloyd is survived by one daughter, Laura Huckstep of Taylorville, IL; three grandchildren, Sarah House (companion Michael Gullidge) of Taylorville, IL, Maegen (husband Kevin) Trone of Hillsboro, IL, and Beth (husband Drew) Edwards of Hillsboro, IL; five great-grandchildren, Kade Edwards, Cooper House, Kason Trone, Meleah Edwards, and Haley Edwards; and one sister, Beulah Steinbuck of Evanston, IL.  Along with her parents and husband Mrs. Lloyd was preceded in death by one son, Steven T. Lloyd on October 19, 2014; a son-in-law, Keith Huckstep; a grandson, Kenneth Vogel; and two brothers and a sister.

Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
