William “Bill” Edward Niehaus, 73, of Belleville, IL, formerly of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on August 27, 2024 at 5:02 a.m. at Belleville Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. Services for Mr. Niehaus will be on Saturday, September 7, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Wares Grove Lutheran Church in Butler, Illinois. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., until the time of service. Rev. John Jaffry, Pastor of Wares Grove Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler, Illinois.
Bill was born on August 3, 1951 in Hillsboro, Illinois to the late Glenn E. and Betty C. (Allen) Niehaus. He was a 1969 graduate of Hillsboro High School and attended Western Illinois University. He married Vicki Liontz and they later divorced. Bill had worked at Goodwill and was also a Janitor at the rest area north of Springfield. He was an active member of Wares Grove Lutheran Church in Butler, Illinois, a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau, and participated in FFA and 4-H throughout high school.
Mr. Niehaus is survived by his son, Edward William Niehaus of Springfield, Illinois; sisters, Laura (husband, Allen) Lemme of Hillsboro, IL and Belinda Meador of Hamel, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Wares Grove Cemetery or Goodwill.
