Wanda June (Carlock) Compton

Wanda June Compton, 89, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., at her daughter’s residence in Hillsboro, IL.  A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. (noon), at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL Rev. Randy Sands, Pastor of Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officiate.  Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.

Mrs. Compton was born September 26, 1930, in Coffeen, IL, to the late Virgil & Mary (Criner) Carlock.  She married Richard E. Compton, on August 1, 1948, in Donnellson, IL.  He preceded in death on May 6, 2011.  Mrs. Compton had worked at Echlin, in Litchfield, IL, in the packing department and was a member of The Ladies of the Moose Lodge #1377 in Hillsboro, IL.  She had lived in Coffeen, IL; Greenville, IL; Donnellson, IL and moved to Hillsboro, IL in 1968.

Mrs. Compton is survived by three children, Richard (wife, Ida) Compton of Hillsboro, IL; Kay (husband, Bill) Hefley of Hillsboro, IL; and Barbara (husband, Jim) Mack of Barnhart, MO; six grandchildren, Ruby Hammarstedt, Ron Compton (Companion, Carmen Blythe), Chris Dobson, Brandy Rae Compton, Shannon (husband, Chris) Luedike, and Kyle(wife, Abi) Mack; fourteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and three sisters, Nelda Adkisson of Donnellson, IL; Jewel White of Edwardsville, IL & Melba Olson of Florida.  Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Compton; one great grandson, Christopher Dobson and one sister Beulah Castleman.
