Virgil M. Wright, 81, of Fillmore, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 8:28 p.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the family farm, 21144 Seven Sisters Avenue, Fillmore, IL.
Mr. Wright was born on July 5, 1939 in Hillsboro, IL to the late Marion and LaRue (Neisler) Wright. He was a graduate of Nokomis High School, Nokomis, IL and worked as a self-employed painter, who painted many structures around the county. Mr. Wright lived in Montgomery County, IL his entire life. He married Roberta Kay Naylor on October 17, 1965 at Woodside Church and she survives in Fillmore, IL. Mr. Wright was a member of White Tail Unlimited Committee and Hillsboro Moose Lodge #1377, Hillsboro, IL; he loved spending time with his family, to hunt, fish and bowl and bowled in the Hillsboro Bowling League for many years. He was a member of the Illinois National Guard.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Wright is survived by five children, Cassaundra (husband Lynn) Laurent, Kerri (husband Bill) Wilson, Lori (husband Tom) Lindsay, Virgil Wright, Jr., and April Wright; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Delores Sturgis, Beverley Worth, and Juanita Wright-Porter.
Mr. Wright was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Wright; one brother; and one sister.
