Vernon Leroy Durbin, 70, of Hillsboro, IL passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at 4:06 p.m. at his residence in Hillsboro, IL. Private Inurnment will be held at a later date at Oak Grove Mausoleum in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.
Mr. Durbin was born on August 8, 1953 in Pana, IL to Arthur and Julia (Longworth) Durbin, who have both preceded him in death. He was a 1972 Graduate of Hillsboro High School. He married Vicki Frigo August 9, 1986 at United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL, she survives in Hillsboro. He was employed in Maintenance at Hillsboro Glass until they closed and also worked as an engineer and dispatcher for the Hillsboro Fire Department and Hillsboro Ambulance Service. He was a member of the Moose Club #1377 and Volunteer Fire Department both in Hillsboro. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns, hanging out with friends, taking long drives, and his beloved dog Benji. He lived in Nokomis, IL, Coffeen, IL, and Hillsboro, IL during his life.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Vicki Durbin; Step Daughter, Dana (Jeff) Loepker of Breese, IL; Grandchildren, Zackary Loepker and twins, Colin and Eric Loepker; Brothers, Kenny Durbin, Mike Durbin, Louis "Butch" Durbin, and Raymond Durbin; Sisters, Virginia Treadway and Margie Traylor; and Brother in law, Rick Frigo.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Brother, Tom Durbin; and Sister, Martha Spinner.
