Thelma T. (Jorn) Brohammer, 91, of Coffeen, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 4:08 a.m. at Tremont Ridge Assisted Living, Hillsboro, IL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro, IL. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro, IL. Burial will take place in St. John’s Cemetery, Coffeen, IL. Father Dan Willenborg, Pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro, will officiate.
Mrs. Brohammer was born on January 19, 1929 in Hillsboro, IL to the late Paul and Genevieve (Spinner) Jorn. She was a 1946 graduate of Coffeen High School, Coffeen, IL and Business School in Omaha, NE and worked as a secretary in the Montgomery County Recorder’s Office, Hillsboro, IL, and was a homemaker and farm wife. Mrs. Brohammer lived in Hillsboro, IL, Omaha, NE, and Coffeen, IL during her lifetime. She married Lawrence Brohammer on April 7, 1951 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Coffeen, IL and he preceded on December 3, 2011. Mrs. Brohammer was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Coffeen, IL, the Altar Society, and St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro, IL; loved to garden, cook, embroider, and do needle work; was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and St. Louis Blues hockey fan.
Mrs. Brohammer is survived by three children, Mary (husband David) Logsdon of Champaign, IL, Linda (husband Steve) Schroedter of Hillsboro, IL, and Ben (wife Karen) Brohammer of Hilton Head, SC; nine grandchildren, Jason Logsdon, Matthew Logsdon, Ryan Logsdon, Christine Schroedter, Adam Schroedter, Alison Scott, Alex Brohammer, Abigail Brohammer, and Audrey Brohammer; eleven great-grandchildren, Adelyn Logsdon, Camden Williams, Ethan McLean, Gwenyth Logsdon, Brylar Logsdon, Luke Logsdon, Brystal Logsdon, Bralyn Logsdon, Keegan Schroedter, Isla Scott, and Ford Scott; and siblings, Donald (wife Hilda) Jorn of Virden, IL, Delmar Jorn of India, and Helen Todd of Elmhurst, IL.
Mrs. Brohammer was also preceded in death by a child, Brent Brohammer, in infancy; a brother, Paul Jorn; and a brother-in-law, Clyde Todd.
Memorials may be given to St. John’s Cemetery, Coffeen, IL; Donor’s Choice; or masses.
