Susan Diane Hancock, 62, of Fillmore, IL passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1:54 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Burial will be at Bost Hill Cemetery in Fillmore, IL. Rev. Leland Redfern will officiate.
Mrs. Hancock was born on June 30, 1959 in Decatur, IL to the late Walter and Lela (Miller) Mentz. She was a 1977 graduate of Raymond High School in Raymond, IL and she lived in the Hillsboro area after high school. She worked as a secretary for White and Associates in Hillsboro, IL. She married Ross “Dean” Hancock on January 22, 1977 at the Schram City Baptist Church in Schram City, IL. He survives in Fillmore, IL. She was a member of New Life Assembly in Coffeen, IL. She loved animals, camping, horseback riding, boating and the outdoors.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hancock is survived by her children, Shannon (husband Josh) Maddaleno of Hillsboro, IL and Amanda (husband John) Chumley of Chapman, IL; four grandchildren, Ethan, Carsen, Avery, and Emeri; and two brothers, John Mentz and Rodger Mentz.
Mrs. Hancock is preceded in death by her grandson Wyatt Riggs; and two brothers, Harmon Mentz and Jim Mentz.
Memorials may be given to the Leukodystrophy Association.
