Steven Lee Traylor

Steven "Steve" L. Traylor, 62, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020, at 8:05 a.m., at Hillsboro Area Hospital, Hillsboro, IL. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at Waveland Cemetery in Rural Hillsboro, IL.  Family and friends may meet at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, at 10:30 a.m., to process to the cemetery.  Those who wish to attend graveside services are asked to practice social distancing as recommended by the CDC Guidelines.

Mr. Traylor was born, on September 30, 1957, to the late Darrell L. and Doris E. (Green) Traylor.  He was a 1975 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL.  He married Nancy Carroll on July 22, 1978 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hillsboro, IL and she survives in Hillsboro, IL.  Mr. Traylor had worked for the United States Postal Service as a Rural Letter Carrier, he became the Illinois Union Representative for the Rural Letter Carriers and then became the National Union Representative for the Rural Letter Carriers, serving in Washington, D.C..  Mr. Traylor was a lifetime member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #51 in Hillsboro, IL; a member of Moose Lodge #1377 in Hillsboro, IL and was a member of the Union for Illinois Rural Letter Carriers.  He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and he loved to golf, hunt, fish, gardening, wood working and wine making.  Mr. Traylor lived in Hillsboro, IL area his entire life. 

In addition to his wife, Mr. Traylor is survived by his two children, Sean (wife Brandi) Traylor of Hillsboro, IL and Randi Traylor of Edwardsville, IL; two grandchildren, Liam Traylor and Kolton Traylor; a sister, Kathleen Beckom of Hillsboro, IL and a brother, Elbert Traylor of Lincoln, NE.
