Shirley R. Caulk, 79, of Witt, IL, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at her residence. There will be a private family burial in Irving Cemetery in Irving, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held at Irving Century House in Irving, IL. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Shirley was born November 11, 1944 in Springfield, IL to Millard and Eudora (Sutton) Dunham, both have preceded in death. After graduating high school she went on to marry Loren “PeeWee” Caulk, they later divorced. She attended Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL for Special Education and went on to work at Beckemeyer Elementary School in Hillsboro, IL. She also had training at the Court Security Academy that she used in her employment with The Montgomery County Courthouse in Hillsboro, IL. Shirley also worked as a drug rehab counselor at Gateway Foundation in Taylorville, IL. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Irving, IL. She loved fishing, hunting, horseback riding, bowling, spending time with family and grandchildren. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
She is survived by her children, Lori Joyce of Witt, IL and Kenny (wife Debbie) Caulk of Lake in the Hills, IL; her grandchildren, Derrick Joyce, Dillon Joyce, Amy Caulk, Drew Caulk; great grandchildren Aaroh and Archer Joyce; brother, Jim Dunham and sister, Carol.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
