Ruth M. Osborn, 97, of Butler, IL passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020, at 11:30 p.m., at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab Center in Taylor Springs, IL. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, private graveside services will be held at Montgomery Cemetery in rural Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Ralph Ward, of Hillsboro, IL, will officiate. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery in rural Hillsboro, IL.
Mrs. Osborn was born on August 13, 1922, in Toledo, OH, to the late Wilder and Edna (Albracht) Border. She is a graduate of DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, OH. She married David Osborn, on February 23, 1946, in Toledo, OH and he preceded her in death on November 23, 1983. Mrs. Osborn had worked as a clerk at Montgomery Ward Dept. Store in Litchfield, IL; had owned and operated Red & White Grocery Store in Butler, IL and was a housewife and mother. Mrs. Osborn was a member of Butler Presbyterian Church in Butler, IL. She loved gardening, bowling, playing cards and dining out with family and friends. She had lived in Toledo, OH and Butler, IL.
Mrs. Osborn is survived by one son, Bill (wife, Dinah) Osborn of Coral Springs, FL; one daughter, Nancy (husband, Jim) Snyder of Butler, IL; two grandchildren, Neil (wife, Monica) Osborn of Holly Springs, NC; and Andrew Snyder (Jessica Kong) of Elk Grove Village, IL and two great grandchildren, Aiden Osborn; and Ethan Osborn. Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Osborn was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
