Ronald Earl Rhodes

Ronald Earl Rhodes, 81, of Irving, IL, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019, at 7:30 a.m., at Hillsboro Rehab and Health Care Center in Hillsboro, IL  A visitation will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL.  Rev. Ryan Follis, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Nokomis, IL, will officiate.

Mr. Rhodes was born June 26, 1938, in Carlinville, IL, to the late Clifford and Laura (Sanderson) Rhodes.  He is a graduate of Carlinville High School in Carlinville, IL and had worked as a forklift driver at Firestone Tire Company in Decatur, IL.  He married Sandra Sue Bailey on March 31, 1961 in Hillsboro, IL and she survives in Irving, IL.  Mr. Rhodes had lived in Carlinville, IL, Moweaqua, IL and Irving, IL.  He loved to play bingo, metal detecting and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Rhodes is survived by his wife, Sandra Sue Rhodes of Irving, IL; four children, Cathy (husband Terry) Schmidt of South Carolina; Butch (wife Carol) Rhodes of Irving, IL; Jody (husband Jerry) Ehlers of Hillsboro, IL; and Rhonda Rhodes of Irving, IL; seven grandchildren, Tegan, Josie, Haley, Lauryn, Christie, Tiffany and Zack; six great grandchildren and four brothers, Barry Rhodes, Jerry Rhodes, Denny Rhodes, and Les Rhodes.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Dean Rhodes.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer Unit at Hillsboro Rehab and Health Care Center in Hillsboro, IL.
