Ronald Lee Merriman

Ronald Lee Merriman, 63, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 3:45 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital, Hillsboro, IL. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Cremation rites were accorded.

Mr. Merriman was born on July 26, 1958 in Hillsboro, IL, to the late William H. and Dorothy M. (Thacker) Merriman.  He was a 1976 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL, and worked as a Waste Water Treatment Supervisor for the city of Hillsboro, IL, and several small surrounding towns in the area. Mr. Merriman lived in the Hillsboro area all his life. He married Nancy Lehnen in 1979 in Hillsboro, IL, and she survives in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Merriman was a founding member of Witt NWTF, a member of Ducks Unlimited and he loved to deer hunt and mushroom hunt. 

In addition to his wife, Mr. Merriman is survived by his daughter, Brandi (husband, Ron) Christian of Hillsboro, IL; three grandchildren, Bailey Davis, Hailey Christian and Colton Christian all of Hillsboro, IL; and siblings, Glenn Merriman of Hillsboro, IL; Bill Merriman of Butler, IL; Tanya Louise Giller of Witt, IL; Janice Kay Robinson of Nokomis, IL; Kathy Ann  Pierce of Nokomis, IL and Sandra Jean Austin of Witt, IL.
