Nola Burnetta (Annear) Hertel

Nola Burnetta (Annear) Hertel, 101, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 10:30 p.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Taylor Springs, IL.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Mark Noyes, Hillsboro, IL, will officiate.  Burial will take place in Mulkeytown Cemetery, Mulkeytown, IL at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2018.

Mrs. Hertel was born on October 30, 1916, in Mulkeytown, IL, to the late Roy and Elfie (Wells) Annear.  She was a 1934 graduate of Christopher High School and attended beauty school for two years.  She married Leonard Jake Hertel on June 12, 1938, in Mulkeytown, IL, and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1998.  They moved to Hillsboro, IL in 1963. Mrs. Hertel worked as a beautician and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Hillsboro, IL; Christian Church, Mulkeytown, IL from 1929 to 1963; American Legion; Hillsboro Hospital Auxiliary for over 50 years; Daughters of the American Revolution; and couples class at church.

Mrs. Hertel is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nanci Hertel, Hillsboro, IL; grandson, James (wife Nichole) Hertel, Haymarket, VA; and great grandson, Graysen James Roy Hertel.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hertel was preceded in death by her son, Roy Hertel, on May 25, 2017, and two brothers, Ivan Annear and Ralph Annear.

Memorials may be given to the Christian Church, Mulkeytown, IL or the Christian Church, Hillsboro, IL.
