Nola Mae Eskra, age 71, of Taylor Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 3:47 pm at Hillsboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Nola was born the daughter of Victor Allen and Nora Louise (Brewer) White on December 2, 1953, in Hillsboro, Illinois.
Growing up, Ms. Nola graduated from Greenville High School. Soon after she married her love, Paul Michael Eskra, on June 16, 1979, in Reno, Illinois, and he survives her.
Mrs. Eskra was employed with the Roller Derby Skate Corporation, Sierra Supply, Dana-Brake Parts, which were all local to the Litchfield area. With her loving heart, Nola also spent time as an in-house caregiver. She was mainly employed with the US Postal Service as a rural letter carrier.
Nola was a dear member of the Taylor Springs Baptist Church. She had a passion for genealogy and finding out about our connections with our ancestors. Her family knew her to be a fabulous cook that loved making meals for her loved ones. She deeply enjoyed being with family, whether that was around the dinner table or at a campground.
Besides her loving husband Paul Michael Eskra, Mrs. Eskra is survived by her sons, Michael (wife, Elizabeth) Eskra of Taylor Springs, and Eric Eskra of Donnellson; four grandchildren, Jaykin Foster, Raelynn Eskra, Topanga Ball and Sebastian Eskra; her brothers, Denny (wife, Susie) White of Carmel, IN., and Doug (wife, Wanda) White of Hillsboro; sisters, Joyce (husband, John) Feldman of Hillsboro, Melba (Husband, Tom) Fulton of Newton, IL, and Pam (husband, Jerry) Calstrum of Noblesville, IN; and brother-in-law David Greek of Hillsboro.
Nola was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: John, Orville, and Stanley White; a sister Lola Kay White, and a sister-in-law Patricia Greek.
A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
