Shelly was born the daughter of Michael H. & Judy Kay (nee White) Thacker on August 3, 1965, in Hillsboro, Illinois.
Although she was born in Hillsboro and lived in Coffeen most of her life, she lived several years in both Gillespie, IL and Florida, but returned to the area back in the early 2000s. Michelle graduated from Hillsboro High School. She was proud to be the first female member of Labor Local #1084 in Hillsboro, IL. Shelly loved to participate in the sport of fishing and enjoyed the fish fries that her family would throw. Her greatest joy in life came from being a grandma. She would always find the perfect gift at a yard sale or thrift store for her grandchildren, and they knew that when Grandma Shelly’s truck pulled up, there was nothing but fun and presents coming to them.
Michelle married Tony Dyer on October 11, 2012, at the Grace Fellowship Church in Fillmore, IL, and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2023.
Shelly is survived by her parents Michael and Judy Thacker; children, Isaiah (Wife Carissa) Wright of Hillsboro, Megan (Husband Ryan) Holland of Alexandria, Virginia, Tiffanie Thacker of Coffeen, and Moriah (Fiancé Chad) Thacker of Hillsboro, her grandchildren Rylan, Harvey, Aiden, Logan, Naomi, Gloria, Jonas, Noah, Ella, Ronan, Adalee, Cora, Cohen, Casper, Calvin, and Crosby; her brother Stacy (Wife Pamela) Thacker of Coffeen; her nephew Tycen Thacker; as well as other beloved family members.
Shelly was preceded in death by her husband Tony Dyer and a grandson Keaton.
Memorials in Shelly’s honor may be directed towards Olive Hill Cemetery or the Hillsboro Free Methodist Church: Celebrate Recovery.
