Matthew Paul Sheridan

Matthew Paul Sheridan ,53, of St. Louis passed away at his home on January 9, 2024 due to complications from diabetes.  Cremation rites were accorded.  Visitation with the family will be held February 3, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL.  Memorial services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Mark Noyes officiating.  Bass-Patton-Dean Funeral Home is helping with arrangements.

Matthew was born May 12, 1970 in Redondo Beach, California. Matt graduated from high school in Highland, Illinois.  He received his Bachelors Degree in finance and political science from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.  He lived his adulthood in St. Louis.

Matt’s favorite activity was being in nature.  He especially enjoyed the Missouri Botanical Gardens.  He was an avid reader and always loved learning new things. His special interests were spirituality, philosophy and politics.  He loved all sports and listening to music. He was a kind, loving person and was always willing to help someone in need.

Matthew is survived by his parents: Janice (Bolton) Sheridan of Shiloh, Illinois and Kelly Sheridan of Nashville, Illinois.  He is also survived by his stepfather, Danny White of Shiloh, Illinois who was a great friend to Matt.  And he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents: James and Ethel Bolton, Otto and Pauline Sheridan and his uncle, Jimmy Bolton.
