Matthew Charles Shelhamer, 43, of Litchfield, IL passed away, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at his residence. Visitation will be Saturday April 1, 2023 from 10am to 11am at Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL, with the funeral service Saturday April 1, 2023 at 11am at Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL. Reverend Randy Sands, Pastor of Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL
Mr. Shelhamer was born September 20, 1979 to Charles “Chuck” & Helen (Zimmer) Shelhamer. He was a 1998 Graduate of Hillsboro High School and later studied Architecture at Ranken Technical College in St Louis, MO. He was Quality Control in the Boat Part Distribution Center at Dometic in Litchfield, IL and attended Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Shelhamer had lived in Hillsboro, IL, St Louis, MO, and Litchfield, IL. He loved baseball and was a huge St Louis Cardinals fan.
Mr. Shelhamer is survived by his parents, Chuck and Helen Shelhamer; Sister Jennifer (husband, Jeff) Kokal, Shorewood, IL; Nephews Kirk Fortelka and Caleb Kokal; beloved Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Albert and Stella Zimmer and paternal grandparents Ernest and Lucetta Shelhamer.
Memorials are suggested to Montgomery County Cancer Association in lieu of flowers.
