Mary Anna (Luck) McElroy, 88, of Springfield, IL passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 1:05 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL. Cremation rites were accorded. There are no services planned at this time.
Ms. McElroy was born on January 7, 1933 in Hillsboro, IL to the late Roscoe H. and Sophia (Long) Luck, Sr. She was a Hillsboro High School graduate and lived in Hillsboro, IL and Springfield, IL. She worked for the Farm Bureau for the Department of Forestry and the Federal Mine Inspector’s office, and lastly worked as Director of Administration at United Way in Springfield, IL. She married Larry McElroy in April of 1956; they later divorced. She loved to dance.
Ms. McElroy is survived by her son Kevin McElroy of Springfield, IL; her brother, Roscoe “Buck” Luck, Jr. of Shobonier, IL; her sister, Dorothy Westbrook of Chatham, IL; her nieces, Tami Joyce and Patty Parry Zegers; and her nephews, Rick Luck, Rowdy Luck, Greg Westbrook, Rich Westbrook, and Jimmy Parry.
In addition to her parents, Ms. McElroy is preceded by her sons, Kelly G. McElroy and Keith L. McElroy, and her sister, Ethel Parry.
