Martha Jane (Matthews) Kunze

Martha J. (Matthews) Kunze, 71, passed away on January 29, 2023 at 12:55 p.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Pastor Sue Bryce of United Methodist Church of Irving will officiate. Burial will be held at Irving Cemetery in Irving, IL. 
Ms. Kunze was born on June 24, 1951 in Hillsboro, IL to the late Jesse Earl Matthews and Mary Louise (Osborn) Matthews Bland. She was a Hillsboro High School Graduate, Class of 1969; Received Paralegal Degree from Lincoln Land Community College. Ms. Kunze was a member of Schram City Baptist Church; CEFS Volunteer; Helped out at the Courthouse. Ms. Kunze enjoyed making art and coloring, and she loved to cook. She married Eugene Wade Kunze on September 28, 1974 in Hillsboro, IL and he preceded in 2016. Ms. Kunze had lived in Litchfield, IL and Hillsboro, IL during her lifetime. 
Ms. Kunze is survived by her children, Zackary Kunze of Hillsboro, IL; Eugene (wife, Marilyn) Kunze of Nevada; Roger (wife, Brenda) Kunze of Missouri; Lucy Kunze of Missouri; Deana (husband, Eddy) Lemonier of Oklahoma; and David Kunze of Illinois; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother and sister, Perry Matthews of Schram City, IL and Marilyn (husband, Wallace) Collins of Rochester, IL; she was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Earl Matthews and Mary Louise (Osborn) Matthews Bland; her son , William E. Kunze; and her husband, Eugene W. Kunze.
