Marilyn Joy Stewart, 87, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11:42 a.m., at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab in Taylor Springs, IL. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Michael Plummer, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officiate. Burial will be in Bost Hill Cemetery in Fillmore, IL.
Mrs. Stewart was born on July 15, 1936, in Taylor Springs, IL, to the late Frank and Pauline (Graham) Savage. She had worked as a CNA, in Home Healthcare and as a Retail Clerk and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL and Jolly Grandmother’s Club, where she was the President from 1980 to 1985. She had lived in Taylor Springs and Hillsboro area her entire life.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by two daughters, Beth Whitecotton of Pensacola, FL and Kathy (husband, Dennis) McCammack of Hillsboro, IL; five grandchildren, Brandon (wife, Jody) Adams, Wendy Adams, Adam (wife, Alison) McCammack, Derek (wife, Melissa) McCammack and Kasey McCammack; eight great grandchildren, Emma Adams, Mika Adams, Jaelen Moorer, Jelissa Moorer, Dylan McCammack, Adyson McCammack, Brynn McCammack and Noah McCammack and one brother, Carl Savage of Hillsboro, IL. Along with her parents, Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by one brother, Marion Savage in infancy and one son-in-law, Rick Whitecotton.
Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church Youth Group.
