Margaret I (Loew) Clanton

Margaret I. (Loew) Clanton, 84, of Hillsboro, IL, formerly of Coffeen, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at 1:10 a.m. at Tremont Ridge Assisted Living, Hillsboro, IL.  Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Burial will take place in Donnellson Cemetery, Donnellson, IL.  Daniel R. White, Coffeen, IL, will officiate.

Mrs. Clanton was born on February 5, 1936 to the late William and Clara (Keeling) Loew.  She married Bob L. Clanton on June 30, 1956 in Donnellson, IL and he preceded her on May 26, 2019.  She worked at DeMoulin's Sewing Factory, Greenville, IL; garment factories in Hillsboro, IL, Litchfield, IL, Nokomis, IL and Vandalia, IL; and Roller Derby, Litchfield, IL.  She moved to Tremont Ridge Assisted Living in August, 2019, where she continued to sew for staff and residents.  Mrs. Clanton loved to sew, refurbish antique trunks, working jigsaw puzzles, and watching hummingbirds.

Mrs. Clanton is survived by two daughters, Brenda (husband Larry) Ackerman of Hillsboro, IL and Rebecca Clanton (friend Ken Johnson) of Coffeen, IL; and two sisters, Beulah Marsh of Litchfield, IL and Norma Lawrence of Litchfield, IL

Mrs. Clanton was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Memorials may be given to Donnellson Cemetery, Donnellson, IL.
