Luretta N. (Newcum) Satterlee

Luretta N. (Newcum) Satterlee, 86, of Coffeen, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at 3:18 a.m., at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab Center, Taylor Springs, IL.  Private Family Services will be held at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home, Coffeen, IL.  Burial will take place in Olive Hill Cemetery, Coffeen, IL.  Rev. Ralph Ward, Hillsboro, IL, will officiate.

Mrs. Satterlee was born on July 29, 1934 outside of Ramsey, IL to the late Fred and Vera (Casey) Newcum.  She was a 1952 graduate of Coffeen High School, Coffeen, IL and was a bank teller at Montgomery County National Bank, Hillsboro, IL and City Clerk in Coffeen, IL for 28 years.  Mrs. Satterlee lived in Coffeen, IL during her lifetime.  She married Houston E. Satterlee on August 14, 1954 at the Methodist Church, Coffeen, IL and he preceded her on August 3, 2020.  Mrs. Satterlee was a member of the Eastern Star, an avid reader, babysat for all the neighborhood kids, an avid Cardinal fan, and loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Satterlee is survived by four children, Vickie (husband Richard) Lovellette of Litchfield, IL, Gary (wife Julee) Satterlee of Hillsboro, IL, Donna Satterlee of Litchfield, IL, and Hugh (wife Angie) Satterlee of Coffeen, IL; six grandchildren, Luke Satterlee, Erika Satterlee, Erin Satterlee, Sarah Kim, John Kim, and Alesia Pierce; and three great-grandchildren, Charlie Elise Satterlee, Finlay Van Satterlee, and Nathan August Schmidt.

Mrs. Satterlee was also preceded in death by a brother, Fred Newcum, Jr.

Memorials may be given to Olive Hill Cemetery.
