Lucille (McDonough) Gorsage

Lucille (McDonough) Carlock Gorsage,91, of Coffeen, IL  passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 12:05 a.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL. Visitation will be Monday, December 11, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL, with the funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. and the burial following at Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen, IL.  Mark Noyes will officiate.

Lucille was born August 4, 1932 in Fayette County to Ted and Verna (Stewart) McDonough. She was a Coffeen High School Graduate and obtained her BA in Education at McKendree College in Lebanon, IL. She worked as a school teacher at Fillmore and Coffeen Grade Schools for 30 plus years. She married Mr. Clyde Carlock on June 10, 1950, he preceded March 3, 1967. She then married Mr. Robert Gorsage on August 23, 1971 and he preceded December 4, 2002. She held memberships to Montgomery County Retired Teachers, Rockyford Park Coffeen, IL, and board of Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen, IL for several years. She loved to quilt, and loved her cats.

Mrs. Gorsage is survived by her daughter, Beverly Whalen of Coffeen, IL; three grandchildren, Ann Whalen, Mark Whalen, John Whalen; one great-grandchild, Hunter Whalen; and sister, Linda (husband, Mike) Seaton of Fillmore, IL. She is preceded by her parents, two husbands, daughter, Evelyn Carlock, and sister, Lora McDonough.
