Lorraine Ann (Hayes) Maroney

Lorraine Ann Maroney, 88, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 @ 2:06 p.m., at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home. Father Daniel Willenborg, Pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.

Mrs. Maroney was born on June 30, 1936, in Somerville, MA, to the late John J. and Bertha (Pierce) Hayes. She was a graduate of Howe High School in Billerica, MA. She married Thomas Maroney on October 21, 1961 in Billerica, MA and he preceded her in death on August 19, 2010. Mrs. Maroney spent her life as a homemaker, always ensuring her family was taken care of. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL and the Taylor Springs Food and Toy Drive; she also loved to complete word search puzzles, play bunco, watch ice skating on television, and most importantly, spend time with family and grandchildren.

Mrs. Maroney is survived by her daughter Pam Maroney (companion, Scott Knight) of Panama, IL, Son-in-Law Chuck Vunetich of Hillsboro, IL, granddaughters Lauryn (husband, Zach) Roberts of Centralia, IL, Carly Vunetich of Hamel, IL, and Halle Vunetich of Hillsboro, IL and brother John Walter Hayes of MA. She is preceded in death by her parents husband and daughter, Karen Vunetich who preceded on December 20, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to PAWS Care or St. Agnes Catholic Church.
