Lois June (Wagener) Kesinger

Lois June (Wagener) Kesinger, 95, passed away on January 15, 2021 at 9:44 a.m. at Hillsboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Hillsboro, IL. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Cress Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL. Family and friends may gather at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL at 12:30 p.m. to proceed to the cemetery. Rev. Matt Ferguson, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, IL will officiate. Burial will take place at Cress Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.

Mrs. Kesinger was born on June 17, 1925 to the late Ruby Darold & Ruth Margaret (Wise) Wagener. Her mother passed away in 1940, and she moved to Pleasant Mound, IL to live with relatives Vallie and Ruth Cripe. She attended Greenville High School in Greenville, IL. Mrs. Kesinger married Frank Monroe in 1944 and they later divorced. She later married Gene Kesinger on November 15, 1971 in Colorado; he preceded in August 1991. Mrs. Kesinger was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, IL and Hillsboro, IL, where she served as Deacon of the Church. She has lived in the Hillsboro area since 1954; prior to that she resided in Greenville, IL.

Mrs. Kesinger is survived by her daughter, Deborah (husband, Rodney) King of Niantic, IL; two granddaughters, Melissa King (husband, Scott Slaughter) of Clinton, IL and Melody (husband, Andy) Cowley of Clinton, IL; seven great-grandchildren- Cody, John, Mason, Colton, Orion, Archer, and Emmeline. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Darold and Ruth Margaret (Wise) Wagener; her daughter, Rebecca Prehoda; her husband, Gene Kesinger; as well as two brothers and one sister.
