Lila Marilyn (Bullock) Swain

Lila Swain, 94, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Saturday, November 09, 2024, at 6:15 a.m., at Tremont Ridge Assisted Living in Hillsboro, IL.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Mark Noyes, of Hillsboro, IL, will officiate.  Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.

Mrs. Swain was born on September 19, 1930, in Christopher, IL, to the late Quince and Lula (Harrison) Bullock.  She was a 1948 graduate of Christopher High School in Christopher, IL.  She married Edward Carl Swain on April 8, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas.  He preceded in death on October 9, 2015.  Mrs. Swain moved to Hillsboro, IL in 1960 and had worked at McDavid Ford, Journal News; Truitt Chevrolet Garage, Montgomery County National Bank and then joined her husband Carl when he started his insurance business in 1972.  She had been a member of the First Christian Church in Hillsboro, IL and Lifetime member of the Eastern Star, holding several offices.  She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and being with her family.

Mrs. Swain is survived by her daughter, Sally (husband, David) Adams of Hillsboro, IL; five great- grandchildren, Sarah (husband, Seth) Price of Fillmore, IL, Mackenzie Adams of Nokomis, IL, Joshua Adams of Hillsboro, IL, Alissa Adams of Nokomis, IL & Daisy Adams of Fillmore, IL and one great great grandson, Ryder Price.  Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Craig Adams and Curt Adams and one brother, Harrison Bullock.

Memorials are suggested to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
