Kurt W. Schmedeke, 65, of Irving, IL passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 3:04 p.m.. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Jeff Hemken, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL and Pastor Sue Bryce, United Methodist Church in Irving, IL, will officiate. Burial will be in Irving Cemetery in Irving, IL.
Mr. Schmedeke was born on February 17, 1956, in Hillsboro, IL, to Cecil A. Schmedeke and Juanita (Bailey) Schmedeke Keiser. His father has preceded in death in March 1976 and his mother survives in Irving, IL. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Schmedeke had worked in the kitchen at the Red Rooster Inn in Hillsboro, IL and at Lomas Del Sol Mexican Restaurant in Hillsboro, IL before retiring in 2018. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Irving, IL and had lived in Irving, IL his entire life.
Mr. Schmedeke is survived by his mother, Juanita Keiser; two brothers, Kyle (wife, Deneta) Schmedeke and Karis Schmedeke, both of Irving, IL; one niece and four nephews; and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil A. Schmedeke; one bother, Kent Schmedeke and one nephew.
