Kim Dammermann Obituary

Kim A. Dammermann, 68, of Gillespie, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 11:50 a.m., at OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL.  Mark Noyes will officiate. Burial will take place in Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler, IL.  Military rites will be accorded by the U.S. Department of Defense and American Legion Post #425 at graveside.

Mr. Dammermann was born on March 17, 1953, in Hillsboro, IL, to the late Raymond and Maryellen (Homann) Dammermann.  He was a graduate of Nokomis High School in Nokomis, IL and attended Kaskaskia College in Centralia, IL.  Mr. Dammermann served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, obtaining the rank of Sergeant and being discharged in 1978.  He married Janna Ishmael on September 24, 1988 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, IL and she survives in Gillespie, IL. He was a self-employed electrician and owned Quality Electrical Services in Gillespie, IL.  After retiring he taught electrical classes part time at Lewis & Clark College and also worked part time form DNR at Beaver Dam State Park and Cahokia Mounds State Park.   He was a member of the Bass Club in Gillespie, IL; Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis, IL and loved to garden, being outdoors, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, rafting and camping. Mr. Dammermann lived in Nokomis, IL, Texas, Georgia, and Gillespie, IL during his lifetime.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Dammermann is survived by his daughter, Jala (husband, Paul) Damery of St. Joseph, MO; four grandchildren, Noah Damery, Joshua Damery, Asher Damery and Hannah Damery and two sisters, Bonnie (husband, Bill) Landsea of Miami, FL and Loleta Morgan of Pekin, IL.  Mr. Dammermann was preceded in death by two brothers, Mervin R. Dammermann and Gary Dammermann.
