Kenneth was born on December 28, 1935 in Fillmore, Illinois to the late John and Ethal (Bost) Meyers. He was proud to say he was a member of the last class to graduate from Fillmore High School in 1953. He married Joyce Hofmann on June 30, 1962 at Raymond Presbyterian Church and together they raised their two children, Dale and Christina. Kenneth lived in Fillmore his entire life and finally moved in town Fillmore when he was able to bring his horse with him. Kenneth retired from Hillsboro Glass Factory after approximately 30 years as a Shipping Foreman and he was a farmer. Mr. Meyers was very proud of his service as an Air Force veteran; during his time in the military, he served in Alaska. He was a very optimistic man with a wonderful sense of humor and a strong work ethic. He loved horses and enjoyed riding on the trails in Shawnee, Ramsey, and Litchfield; he continued to ride horses until he was well into his 80’s. Kenneth loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren; especially they made outdoors sledding in the snow or throwing rocks in the creek.
Mr. Meyers is survived by his wife, Joyce Meyers; two children, Dale (wife, Lorie) Meyers of Springfield, and Christina (husband, Matthew) Jones of Chatham, Illinois; six grandchildren, Tyler Jones, Jason Jones, Makenzie Jones, Rachel Meyers, Bryce Meyers, and Sarah Meyers; one great-grandchild, Brooklyn Meyers; and one sister, Carol Sgro.
