Kay Arlene (Hamby) Augustyniak

Kay Arlene (Hamby) Augustyniak, 54, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 12:52 p.m. at her residence. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Gary Stanford, Pastor of Taylor Springs Baptist Church, Taylor Springs, IL, will officiate.  Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.  We are encouraging everyone to follow CDC guidelines with use of masks and social distancing.  

Ms. Augustyniak was born on June 14, 1965, in Hillsboro, Illinois,  to Norman and Doris (Campbell) Hamby. She graduated Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL in 1984. Ms. Augustyniak worked as a waitress at Huddle House and Denny’s in Litchfield, IL; as well as Schutt Sports in Litchfield, IL. She married Vernon Thrasher and they later divorced.  She married Dennis Mayer and they later divorced. Ms. Augustyniak was a member of the Taylor Springs Baptist Church, Taylor Springs, IL; and she loved to throw darts and collect knickknacks. She had lived in Hillsboro, IL; Southern, IL; and Perryville, MO throughout her life.

Ms. Augustyniak is survived by her parents, Norman and Doris Hamby of Hillsboro, IL;  children, Joshua (wife, Morgan) Thrasher of Taylor Springs, IL; Nathan Thrasher of Litchfield, IL; her grandchildren, Skylynn Thrasher, Leham Thrasher, Hayden Parker, and Chevy Thrasher; as well as her siblings, David Hamby of Hillsboro, IL and Michael (wife, Dawn) Hamby of Hillsboro, IL.
