Kathryn (Goff) Romig, 97, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 3:40 p.m., at Carrier Mills Nursing & Rehab in Carrier Mills, IL. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL, with memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Breck Nelson, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officiate.
Mrs. Romig was born June 29, 1927, in Louisville, KY, to the late Benjamin Shelby & Mary Lissia (Walters) Goff. She was 1945 graduate of Maroa High School in Maroa, IL. Kathryn went on to marry Ralph V. Romig on November 22, 1946, in Saunemin, IL, he preceded in death in 1988. Together they owned and operated Romig Sign Art Shop and she had also worked as a CNA. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL. During her life she lived in Kentucky; Decatur, IL; Bloomington, IL; Peoria, IL; Fairbury, IL; moved to Hillsboro, IL in 1988.
Mrs. Romig is survived by her son, Kenneth Lee (wife, Lisa) Romig of Harrisburg, IL; grandchildren, Crystal (husband, Jarred) Moyer of Taylorville, IL and Kevin Lee (wife Lisa) Romig of Decatur, IL; one great-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Dunn of Fairbury, IL and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded by her parents; husband, Ralph Romig; and grandson, Benjamin Paul Romig.
