Joseph D. Summers, 42, of Witt, IL passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 6:55 p.m. at his residence. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL. Rev. Randy White of Coffeen, IL will officiate. Burial will take place in Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen, IL.
Mr. Summers was born on March 13, 1980 in Hillsboro, IL to his late father, James D. “Jim” Summers and mother, Donna (Jones) Summers who survives in Coffeen, IL. He was a Hillsboro High School graduate, Class of 1999, and went on to attain his Associate’s Degree in Farm Management and Chemical Spraying from Lincoln Land Community College. Mr. Summers was manager of fertilizer dept. at M&M Services in Litchfield, IL for 20 years. He married Lindy Castleman on July 19, 2014, and she survives in Witt, IL. Mr. Summers was the Rocky Ford Park Vice President. He loved spending time with his kids and family. He enjoyed the outdoors-hunting, fishing, and side-by-side riding. Mr. Summers had lived in Coffeen, IL, Mt. Olive, IL, and Rural Witt, IL.
Mr. Summers is survived by his wife, Lindy Summers, of Witt, IL; mother, Donna Summers, of Coffeen, IL; mother-in-law, Vanessa Castleman of Mississippi; children, Collin Osmoe Summers; Elliemae Summers; and Easton Summers; siblings, Jim (wife Jessica) Summers of Hillsboro, IL and Julie (husband Bill) Oller of Walshville, IL; and five nephews, Landon Summers, Nash Summers, Wyatt Kershaw, Devin Hansel, and Zack Hansel. Mr. Summers was preceded in death by his father, James D. “Jim” Summers, father-in-law, Tom Castleman, and son, Paden Debardeleben.
