John D Durbin

John D. Durbin, 72, of West Palm Beach, FL, previously of Hillsboro, IL, died at 7:30 am on Jan. 12, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach.
 

No service is planned, but a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The staff of Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family. John was born on Feb. 24, 1947, in Montgomery County, a son of the late Murel and Irene Durbin. He lived most of his life in Hillsboro and Witt before moving to West Palm Beach in 2019 to enjoy retirement. John retired from Graham Correctional Center in 2012 splitting his time in Illinois and Florida. His number one enjoyment after retiring was “watching the grass grow.”

John is survived by Janet L. Durbin whom he was married to for 33 years prior to their divorce in 2000, their 2 daughters, Carla Durbin of West Palm Beach and Jady (husband Jourdan) Chappelear of Hillsboro. He is also survived by his 3 brothers Gary (wife Sherry) Durbin of Burnsville, NC, Kelly Durbin and Barkley Durbin both of Springfield, IL; his 2 sisters Brenda (husband Robb) Schwartz of Hillsboro, IL, Cathy (husband Shawn) Cady of Witt, IL and 2 grandchildren - Alex McDowell and Mason Chappelear.
