Joan Justi Wilson, 83, of Hillsboro, IL formerly of Greenville, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab in Taylor Springs, IL. Cremation rites were accorded and burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Greenville, IL. Private Graveside services will be held.
Ms. Wilson was born on July 23, 1938 in Mulberry Grove, IL to the late Paul and Dana (Davis) Justi. She was a graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, IL and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. Ms. Wilson was a teacher at Greenville High School in the Bond County School District in Greenville, IL. She married David Wilson on June 1, 1963; they later divorced. Ms. Wilson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, IL. She loved to read as well as travel and she had taken many trips with high school groups over the years.
Ms. Wilson is survived by her children, Kelly (husband, David) Powell of Hillsboro, IL and David “Chip” Wilson of Spring Valley, MN; granddaughters, Olivia Powell of Louisville, KY and Madelyn (husband, OlaOluwa) Animashaun of Granite City, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Dana (Davis) Justi; brothers, Dr. William Justi and Dr. Ward Justi; sister, June Kepley; and ex-husband, David Wilson.
