James Edward Polston, 89, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 9:50 a.m. at his home in Washington, IL. Graveside services for Mr. Polston will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Johns Cemetery in Coffeen, IL
Mr. Polston was born February 16, 1934 in Zanesville Township, IL to Roscoe and Susan (Harris) Polston. They have both preceded him in death. James was a 1952 graduate of Coffeen High School in Coffeen, IL. He married Miss Joy Wilson on April 11, 1953 in Coffeen, IL. She survives in Washington, IL. During their 70 years together the Polston’s lived in Coffeen, IL, Joliet, IL and in 1971 moved to Washington, IL. He was employed as an analyst for Caterpillar in Morton, IL.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Polston; Children, James E. (wife, Alice) Polston Jr. of Washington, IL, Joyce (husband, Pete) Luzader of Nokomis, IL; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Phyllis Whalen.
