Helen K (Bourdoumis) Roberts

Helen Kay (Bourdoumis) Roberts, 78, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 6:10 p.m at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL. Cremation Rites were accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Sunday April 30, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Abbey On Broad in Hillsboro, IL . Inurnment has taken place at Oak Grove Mausoleum in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.

Ms. Roberts was born on August 27, 1944 in Hillsboro, IL to the late Nick Bourdoumis and Geneva (Spindel) Bourdoumis Thunhorst, step-father William Thunhorst. She was a 1962 graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL and a 1966 graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. She taught second grade in Litchfield, IL at Madison Park and Colt Schools for 34 years, from 1966-2000. Ms. Roberts married Charles W. Roberts on June 26, 1966 at Hillsboro Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL and he preceded on November 28, 2007. She was a member of the Montgomery County Retired Teachers and had lived in Hillsboro, IL her entire life.

Ms. Roberts is survived by her brother, Nick (wife, Patsy) Bourdoumis of Hillsboro, IL; Melva Thunhorst Smith (husband, Bob)  of Raymond, IL. Along with her parents and husband, Ms. Roberts was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Charles and Wanda Bourdoumis.
