Harold Weller, 89, of Hillsboro, IL passed away Friday November 17, 2023 at 4:12 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab in Taylor Springs, IL. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL with funeral mass following at 11:00 a.m. Father Daniel Willenborg, pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL, where military rites will be accorded.
Harold was born January 1, 1934 in Witt, IL to Arthur and Bernadine (Niehaus) Weller, who have both preceded in death. He is a graduate of Witt High School in Witt, IL. He served in the US Army, spending sometime in Japan. He married Faye Edwards, she survives in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Weller worked for 35 years as the hot end supervisor at Hillsboro Glass Co in Hillsboro, IL. and as a driver for Roger Jennings in Hillsboro, IL and Steve Schmidt Chevrolet in Litchfield, IL. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus both in Hillsboro, IL. He loved watching St. Louis Blues Hockey and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. He loved spending time with family and watching his nephew and grandson in any activity they were involved in. He had a passion for cars, especially T Birds.
Harold is survived by his wife Faye; one son, Anton (wife, Gloria) Weller of Hillsboro, IL; grandson Steven Weller of St. Charles, MO; brother Gary (wife, Suzanne) Weller of Witt, IL and sister, Joyce Ondrey of Witt, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty Jean Borgic.
