Harold Edgar Green

Our Family Patriarch, Harold Edgar Green, went to his heavenly home at 10:58 p.m. on June 2 ,2025 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 9 – 11 a.m., on Saturday June 7, 2025, at Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Illinois. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Vern Hopley. Burial will be a Waveland Cemetery. Refreshments will be served in the church basement following the burial.

Harold was born in Hillsboro, Illinois on November 8, 1924, to Sharon Emmett Green and Mary Katrina (Newport) Green.

Harold was a lifelong farmer in the Waveland area, was a member of the Waveland community church, member of both the Hillsboro and Litchfield Senior centers and had been retired for many years from the American Zinc Plant. Harold was also very proud of being a lifelong blood donor as he had given yearly since he was a young man. He gave his last donation just recently.

Harold was married and divorced twice and both spouses, as well as his parents, have preceded him in death.

Harold is survived by one sister, Sharon K. Green, of Naples, Florida; five children, Paula Hook of Corona, California, Carol of Hillsboro, Cathy of Ft. Myers, Florida, Bradley Green of Hillsboro, and Brent Green of Hillsboro; Grandchildren - Jamie (Teresa) Hook and Jeff (Kelly) Hook of California, Shane Green of Hillsboro, Michelle (John)Trull of Florida. He is survived by several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

ln addition to his parents he was predeceased by two daughters, Judy Green in infancy and Sandra Leverone as well as four sisters, Virginia Robbins, Camilla Reimer, Betty Milliken and JoAnn Hopley.
