Glenda Rae Kasey, 75, of Litchfield, IL passed away on Wednesday June 22, 2022 at 7:40 p.m. at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL.
A Celebration of Life service in her honor will be held on Saturday, July 9 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, IL with a private family burial at Elm Lawn in Litchfield, IL.
Glenda was born to the late Shirley (King) Harkey on October 14, 1946 in Litchfield, IL. She was a 1964 graduate of Litchfield High School in Litchfield, IL where she played the cornet and was a majorette, twirling at times the fire baton. In her early adult years Glenda was employed as a secretary for the State of Illinois and later as a bank teller. In her middle adult years she worked as a typesetter and a graphic designer for various businesses, eventually retiring from ADM in Decatur in 2013. She married Richard Butler and was blessed with two children; they later divorced. She later married Michael Kasey in Blue Mound, IL who preceded her in death on June 25, 2013. Glenda lived most of her life in Illinois including Shelbyville, Blue Mound and Decatur. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, and cheering on the Cardinals baseball team however, her greatest joy was spending time with beloved family and friends.
Glenda is survived by her children; Brad (wife Rachel) Butler of Blue Mound, IL and Michelle (husband Chuck) Lentz of Bolivar, MO; five grandchildren, Nicholas “Cole” Butler, Jordyn Butler, Josiah Lentz, Uriah Lentz, and Shekinah Lentz; sister, Sharon (husband Tom) Pack of Dayton, Ohio; as well as nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made toward an education fund for Glenda’s grandchildren.
