Geraldine Joann (Kessinger) Mehochko

Geraldine Joann Mehochko, age 81, of Hillsboro, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at DePaul SSM Health in St. Louis, Missouri. Visitation for Mrs. Mehochko will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home with burial being held at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro, Illinois. Rev. Josh Mangano, Pastor of Auburn Christian Church will be officiating.

Geraldine was born on December 12, 1943 in Albany, California to the late Howard and Blanche Williams. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1962 and pursued a career as a Registration Clerk at Hillsboro Area Hospital and a Travel Agent for Bergners in Decatur and Springfield, both for 20 years. On February 4, 1972, Geraldine married James E. Mehochko and he survives. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her husband, working, and spending time with her dogs Daisy and Little Miss Nikki.

Mrs. Mehochko is survived by her husband, James Mehochko; children, Joe (wife, Shellie) Simmonds of Greenville, Illinois, David Mehochko of Butler, Illinois, and Dan (wife, Courtney) Mehochko of Auburn, Illinois; grandchildren, Curtis (wife, Cathy) Simmonds, Justin Simmonds, Mark (wife, Alicia) Mehochko, Michelle Mehochko, Dakota Mehochko, Jake Mehochko, Kaity Mehochko, and Ben Mehochko; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Dean Kessinger; sisters, Nina (husband, Tom) Stine and Shirley Melchart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Adopt-A-Pet in Benld, Illinois or Hillsboro Area Veterans Memorial.
