Gail Elaine (Sanders) Stewart

Gail Elaine Stewart, 72 of Hillsboro, IL passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 10:45 a.m. at her home. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL with funeral mass immediately following at 12:00 p.m.. Father Daniel Willenborg will officate.  Burial will be in St Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.

Mrs. Stewart was born  June 16, 1950 in Pana, IL. She was the only child of Warren & Nola (Hicks) Sanders. Nola survives in Hillsboro, IL. She was a 1968 Graduate of Ramsey High School, Ramsey, IL and later graduated Business College. She married Dale Stewart on April 28, 1973 in Hillsboro, IL, he survives. They had one son, Chad Stewart.  Gail began her working career for the State of Illinois, she later worked at the Coffeen Power Station and retired after 31 years of service. She then spent 6 years with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department with Sheriff Jim Vazzi and Sheriff Rick Robbins. During her life she lived in Ramsey, IL and Hillsboro, IL. Mrs. Stewart was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro Sports Association where she served as secretary, and she was the 1971 Miss Downtown Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her father, Warren and son, Chad Stewart on June 6, 2021.

In lieu of flowers all memorials are suggested to St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL.
