Dwight D. Huffer, 89, of Glen Carbon, IL passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 4:00 a.m. at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Clear Springs Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL. Vance Hatcher will be officiating. Military Rites will be accorded graveside by the U.S. Dept. of Defense. Burial will take place at Clear Springs Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.
Mr. Huffer was born on August 1, 1933 in Shelbyville, IL to the late Davis P. Huffer and Mary M. (Lewis) Huffer. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Huffer was a U.S. Army Veteran. He had worked for IBM in Colorado. Mr. Huffer married Virginia M. Beeler on June 21, 1952, and she preceded him on August 24, 2019. Mr. Huffer was a member of the Freemasons as well as Shriners International in Colorado. He had lived in Shelbyville, IL; East St. Louis, IL; Collinsville, IL; Boulder, CO; and Glen Carbon, IL throughout his lifetime.
Mr. Huffer is survived by his adoptive daughter, Eunice (husband Don) Hartpence of Colorado and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Davis P. Huffer and Mary M. (Lewis) Huffer; his wife, Virginia M. (Beeler) Huffer; and his brother, Dale Huffer and sister, Phyllis.
