Dorothy Rose (Dockery) Gleichman

Dorothy R. Gleichman, 93, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab Center in Taylor Springs, IL.  Cremation rites were accorded and a memorial grave side services will be held at a later date.  

Mrs. Gleichman was born, October 3, 1926, to the late Louis “Doc” & Rose Wilhelmina (Schmidlkofer) Dockery.  She was a 1944 graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL.  She married Theron Anthony “Speck” Gleichman, on May 22, 1948, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2003. She and her husband owned and operated Gleichman Plumbing in Hillsboro, IL and she also worked as a farmer, gardener, & livestock handler.  She had lived in Donnellson, IL, Hillsboro, IL and Butler, IL during her lifetime.

Mrs. Gleichman is survived by one daughter, Gayle Gleichman of Urbana, IL; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Callahan, on October 11, 2012, and one brother, Louis Dockery.
