Dorothy Emma Gerhart

Dorothy Emma Gerhart, 94, of Raymond, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 7:20 p.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Burial will take place in McInturff Cemetery, Mulberry Grove, IL. Revered Roy Eller, Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church of Litchfield, IL, will officiate.

Mrs. Gerhart was born on February 10, 1927, to the late Roy and Merena (Jay) Koonce. She attended Vandalia High School, Vandalia, IL, and worked as a Dietary Manager at Sundance Memorial Hospital, Sundance, WY. She lived in Wyoming for 35 years, Hillsboro, IL, and then Raymond, IL. Mrs. Gerhart married Rex White, and they later divorced. She married Eugene Robert Gerhart on October 23, 1971, in Hillsboro, IL. He preceded in death on January 9, 2009. Mrs. Gerhart was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Litchfield, IL, and the Calico Twirlers. She loved to square dance and read her Bible daily.

Mrs. Gerhart is survived by her children, Kenneth “Gene” (wife Susan) White of Hillsboro, IL; Sharon (husband Chuck) Davis of Chatham, IL; Daryl White of Hillsboro, IL; Clayton (wife Veronica) White of Bar Nunn, WY; Debra (husband John) Kuhn of Laramie, WY; Diane Gerhart of Laramie, WY; and Robert (wife Vicki) Gerhart of Cheyenne, WY; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Harold Koonce, Arlene Gerolls, and Linda Townsend.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Gerhart is also preceded in death by her siblings, Donald Koonce, Bill Koonce, Bobby Koonce, Aline Trulock, Mary Koonce, Keith Koonce, and Bonnie Koonce.
