Doris Faye (Crabbe) Lentz, 79, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 3:17 p.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL. Visitation will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Randy Sands, Pastor of the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officiate. Burial will be in Cress Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.
Mrs. Lentz was born on August 29, 1942 in Pana, IL to the late Hubert Forrest Crabbe and Ruth (Cannon) Crabbe. She was a 1960 graduate of Witt High School in Witt, IL and later attended Airline Business School in Minneapolis. Mrs. Lentz worked as a Secretary at Hillsboro Junior High School, Hillsboro, IL, State of Illinois Unemployment Office and State of Illinois Department of Corrections at Graham Correctional Center where she worked in the business office. She lived in Witt, IL; Nokomis, IL; Hillsboro, IL; Michigan for 10 years and then moved back to Hillsboro, IL in 1973. She married Charles E. Lentz, Sr. on July 16, 1964 at the Methodist Church in Corinth, MS. She attended the Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL and was a member of the Ladies Civic Club. Mrs. Lentz led Back Yard Bible Clubs, taught Sunday School and led a Ladies Bible Study for over 20 years. She loved spending time with her family and she loved to sing and play piano.
In addition to her husband, Charles, Mrs. Lentz is survived by her three children, Charles E. “Chuck” (wife Michelle) Lentz of Bolivar, MO, John (wife Chrissie) Lentz of Hillsboro, IL, and Angie (husband Mark) Suchezky of Fenton, MI; nine grandchildren, Sunny (husband Darin) Rosenthal, Josiah Lentz, Uriah Lentz, Christopher (wife Danielle) Suchezky, Andrew Suchezky, Hunter Lentz, Nicholas Suchezky, Gunner Lentz, and Shekinah Lentz; four great grandchildren, Rayne Rosenthal, Rhett Rosenthal, Rhenn Rosenthal, and Madison Suchezky; and her siblings, Ruth Sanders of Kentucky, Martha Robertson of Nokomis, IL, Ken Crabbe of Nokomis, IL, and Sidney Crabbe of Naperville, IL.
Mrs. Lentz was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
